CutieDesk ("the App", "we", "our") is a Windows desktop application that shows clock, weather, calendar, music, notepad and countdown widgets on your desktop. This policy explains what data the App accesses, why, where it is kept, and which outside services it communicates with.
If you connect your Google account, the App uses these Google API scopes:
calendar.calendarlist.readonly — to list your calendars, with their names and colours, so their events can be shown together.calendar.events — to show the events on those calendars, and to create, edit, repeat or delete an event
when you ask it to from the Calendar widget.Calendar data is fetched directly from Google to your computer, displayed in the widget, and kept only in memory while the App runs. It is not saved to disk, not sent to us and not shared with anyone. The App only changes your calendar when you save or delete an event yourself.
If you connect your Spotify account, the App uses these Spotify scopes:
user-read-currently-playing and user-read-playback-state — to show the current track,
artist, album art, progress, shuffle/repeat state and volume.user-modify-playback-state — to play/pause, skip, shuffle, repeat and change volume when you press those controls. This data is fetched directly from Spotify, shown in the widget, and not stored or shared.
| Service | When | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google (accounts.google.com, googleapis.com) | Only if you connect Google Calendar | Your sign-in and calendar requests |
| Spotify (accounts.spotify.com, api.spotify.com) | Only if you connect Spotify | Your sign-in and playback requests |
| Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) | Weather widget | The coordinates of the weather location, or the city name you search for |
| ipwho.is, with ipapi.co as a backup | Weather widget set to automatic location (the default) | Your IP address, to estimate your city. Choose a city manually in Settings and no IP lookup is made. |
| Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) | When the widgets load | Your IP address, as for any web font request |
| GitHub (github.com) | Checking for app updates | Your IP address and the App version, as for any download |
Each of these services handles requests under its own privacy policy. Like any internet request, they can see your IP address. The App does not send them your name, email, notes, calendar or any other personal content.
In the App's data folder (%APPDATA%\CutieDesk): Google/Spotify sign-in tokens, your notes, countdowns,
widget positions and appearance, weather and clock settings, and an update log. This data never leaves your computer
except as described above.
%APPDATA%\CutieDesk folder.CutieDesk's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the Calendar widget's features, is not transferred to anyone, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and describe significant changes in the App's release notes.
